Critical Role has a ton of exciting content coming up, but one in particular stands out that will premiere at the end of April. Critical Role Foundation is teaming up with Red Nose Day and Stephen Colbert for an all new charity one-shot to raise money to eradicate childhood poverty. This is not the first time Critical Role and Stephen Colbert have come together for Red Nose Day.
In 2019 Matthew Mercer guided Stephen Colbert through a one-on-one one-shot Dungeons & Dragons adventure. This event raised over $100,000 for Red Nose Day. And they are coming together once again, but this time it won’t be a one-on-one adventure. Stephen Colbert and Matthew Mercer will be joined by other Critical Role cast members for this new one-shot adventure, although who exactly will be joining in on the fun has yet to be announced.
FANS CAN HELP CHOOSE PIECES OF STEPHEN COLBERT’S ADVENTURE
Fans were given the chance to help shape Stephen Colbert’s first Red Nose Day adventure in 2019 and that trend will continue in this new one-shot as well! Fans are able to help choose important parts of Stephen Colbert’s 2022 adventure including his familiar, a magical item which could have some unintended repercussions, or a one-time use spell for this new one-shot. In order to help shape this adventure fans can donate and vote now by going to http://critrole.com/rednoseday. The polling options that gain the most donations will be incorporated into Stephen Colbert’s one-shot. Polls are open until April 1st at 6pm Pacific.
Critical Role has been worked with a number of non-profits since the series began. Critical Role Foundation was launched in September 2020 with Critical Role’s Ashley Johnson being named president of the organization. Critical Role Foundation states that 85% of donation funds go to partner non-profits, 10% are allocated into an emergency fund, and 5% are allocated to administrative fees and operating expenses. Since Critical Role Foundation was founded the non-profit organization has partnered with First Nations Development Institute, 826LA, and Shanti Bhavan.

The One-Shot will premiere on Thursday April 28th at 7pm Pacific on Twitch. Are you excited to see Matthew Mercer guide Stephen Colbert through another adventure?
