Alan Yang, writer of the critically acclaimed comedy series Parks and Recreation, has recently stated in an interview that he has met with Marvel Studios, about directing a movie.

Alan Yang’s Future Looks Bright

Alan Yang’s filmography includes Parks and Recreation, for which he was nominated for an Emmy, he co-created the Netflix series Masters of None, for which he got an Emmy, Date and Switch a romantic comedy, which is based on his life and is now promoting his upcoming movie Tigertail.

In an recent interview with CineXpress he stated:

“I’m really omnivorous, you’ll see. I’ve done comedy, I’ve done drama…It sounds funny, but I was meeting with Marvel about directing a movie for them, so maybe we’ll do that down the road.”

According to insiders the movie they talked about was Marvel Studios: Shang-Chi: And the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was recently delayed from February 12th to May 7th, due to the coronavirus pandemic. But this movie of course went to director Destin Daniel Cretton. That doesn’t mean that there are no chances for Alan Yang to direct a Marvel Studios movie in the future, but that has to be one which isn’t officially announced yet.
