According to an insider report, the fan-favorite Star Wars character Darth Vader might make an appearance in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. And Anakin Skywalker might show up too.
Information about the forthcoming Star Wars Disney+ shows, especially regarding the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been slight. Ewan McGregor is returning as Obi-Wan and Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian) is set as the director for the entire show. The long-awaited Kenobi series already faced few hurdles even without considering the pandemic.

The studio felt issues with the script and decided to do more work on it which put a pause in the series development. Then writer Hossein Amini (Driver) exited the show back in January and later a new hope has emerged in the form of new writer Joby Harold (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword). The series was back on track and it is set to start filming in January 2021.
Darth Vader Rises Once More
Hot news has been revealed by insider Daniel Richtman that Darth Vader may appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. Richtman did not reveal how significant a role Vader will play in the series and despite how much screen time he has, fans will be more than delighted. Momentarily, it is unknown if Vader will have a face-off against Obi-Wan Kenobi. It will be the most interesting confrontation if it happens though.
If you think twice it makes sense that why Darth Vader would be showing up in the Kenobi series because as we already know the Kenobi story will take place during the empire’s period after Episode III. Also back in May, a rumor arose that actor Hayden Christensen would return to a galaxy far far away and would have some kind of role in the series. Now considering this news it raises the question of whether Christensen will play Anakin or Vader in the series.
According to the latest report by LRM, Christensen is going to be as a ‘regular’, implying he will be reprising as Anakin Skywalker. As LRM reported the rumor is that a deal is done and Hayden Christensen will be coming back to the franchise and Disney’s hope was to announce it for Star Wars Celebration. The Star Wars yearly event is on break until 2022. If this news is true it is going to be announced at a later date closer to the beginning of filming.
Anakin and Obi-Wan went through a lot together in the prequels and also in The Clone Wars. With the Disney+ show exploring Obi-Wan’s personal trauma, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was still haunted by his failure and past mistakes. Christensen returning in some flashbacks or a Darth Vader appearance will be cool. If its Darth Vader, it doesn’t have to be played by him though. Anyway viewers would enjoy Christensen and Ewan McGregor reuniting.

This is just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt. Also earlier this year, some reports have claimed that both Jar-Jar Binks and a young Luke Skywalker will also show up. Considering the show going through rewrites, it’s difficult to predict which direction the series will progress. Either it is Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader it’s a win for the fans.
