In a recent interview, Tony Khan commented on the status of AEW’s Brodie Lee.
It’s a jam packed week in the world of All Elite Wrestling! As the current AEW champion, Jon Moxley, will face former IWGP World Champion and former AEW Tag Team Champion Kenny Omega, one year after their lights out match at Full Gear 2019.
Also on the card is current TNT Champion Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes vs Ricky Starks and Will Wobbs, Chris Jericho vs Frankie Kazarian, the 2nd annual Diamond Ring battle and more. So a press conference by AEW President Tony Khan was the right call, as he hosed a media briefing earlier tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite entitled, “Winter is Coming” (shoutout to Game of Thrones).
Where is Brodie Lee?
During the call, as reported by 411Mania and Wrestling INC, Tony Khan explained what to expect with the main event, dealing with the potential of going over time, Miro coming to the company, and much more.
One big question that wrestling fans wanted answered was about the status of Brodie Lee. The former TNT champion has not been seen on television since October. Tony Khan said that he could not comment on Lee being off the show, however he hopes that he will be back in the ring “soon.”
Brodie Lee, formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE, debuted on March 18th, 2020 in AEW Dynamite. This was after not being able to compete due to the WWE non-compete clause. Originally Lee was supposed to debut in the company in his home town of Rochester, New York. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has plagued the world, the show was moved to Jacksonville Florida.

When Brodie Lee finally made his debut, he was dubbed “The Exalted One” and became the leader of The Dark Order faction. Since then, Brodie Lee recruited both Colt Cabana and Anna Jay to the stable, competed for the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley at this years Double or Nothing on May 23rd, 2020 and would later beat Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship on August 22nd and feud with the Nightmare Family.
He would later go on to defend the TNT Championship against Dustin Rhodes and Orange Cassidy. On the one year anniversary of AEW Dynamite on October 7th, Lee would lose the title against the returning Cody Rhodes in a Dog Collar Match.
It was later revealed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Brodie Lee was taken off air due to an ankle injury. As of now, there is no set day for his return, however don’t count out Brodie Lee returning this year.
