With the massive and current success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s all home runs for the successful franchise. Hopefully with its current success, we can finally see a glimpse or tease of Marvel’s favorite mutant team the X-Men. We all know that discussions are already on its way in how Marvel is going to introduce Mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Wolverine is Marvel’s most popular and famous mutant. Having Wolverine finally adapted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be a dream come true for Marvel fans. Award winning actor Hugh Jackman famously portrayed the role of Wolverine in Fox Studios X-Men movie franchise for nearly 17 years, ending his run with the critically-acclaimed Logan.

Could Tom Hardy Fill Wolverine’s Shoes?

Finding a successor and a Marvel Cinematic Universe portrayal of Wolverine is going to be an tall order due to Jackman’s legendary portrayal of the popular Marvel Mutant. Recently, fans have been doing their own fan casting and even made concept art based on those dream castings. One fan-casting that has gained attention is award winning actor Tom Hardy, who set social media ablaze.

Many fans know that Tom Hardy is not a stranger to superhero or comic book movies. Many fans remember is iconic performance as legendary Batman villain Bane in the Dark Knight Rises, receiving critical acclaim for his portrayal as the legendary Batman villain. But he’s also been a comic superhero, playing Spider-Man anti-hero Venom. Even though Venom received mixed reviews, Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Venom was met with highly positive reception both from critics and fans alike.

Hardy’s popularity on the superhero fan community is not surprising but many want him or dream his in the Marvel Cinematic Universe A recent new concept fan revealed on instagram art created by artist Mizuriau showed Hardy as Wolverine. In the fan art it featured Hardy wearing the iconic yellow spandex suit that Wolverine wore in the comics in a modern setting. The artwork is really good and detailed as it shows on what Hardy could look like as Wolverine.

Tom Hardy as Wolverine might be a pipe dream as the actor is currently contracted to play Venom in Sony’s Spider-Man Character film universe. However that could always change as Hardy could be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as another character instead of Venom. There’s also a high chance that Marvel and producer Feige Feige might have another actor not named to portray Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Only time will tell. But Hardy as Wolverine is indeed a fascinating fan casting.

Wolverine is one of Marvel’s most popular comic book characters. With many appearances on multiple forms of media its only time the character will finally make his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jackman’s portrayal as Wolverine will forever be a staple in superhero movie history. Whoever Marvel decides to cast as Wolverine for the Marvel Cinematic Universe these is high hope it could be someone who can respect and give homage to the character. But for now let’s enjoy the new amazing content Marvel is giving us and maybe hopefully soon we can expect our first tease of Mutants, or better yet the X-Men.
