Dave Bautista Really Wanted to Play a Zombie in The Walking Dead

Dave Bautista revealed during an interview for Army of the Dead that he really tried to play a zombie in The Walking Dead.

Dave Bautista has revealed that he eagerly wanted to play a zombie in the hit series The Walking Dead.

In an recent interview with Empire Magazine, the former WWE star now successful actor has revealed that he really tried to become a member of the undead in the AMC hit series The Walking Dead.

During the interview, Dave Bautista stated:

I tried to get on Walking Dead for years. I said I would come and play a zombie for free, but they said, ‘You’re too big!’

He definitely would have been a lot bigger than the average undead, yet it would still be a cool cameo and who says profi wrestlers couldn’t get bitten by a zombie. But it’s also understandable that the creators wanted to stay consistent, in the way the series shows their many undead.

Bautista stars in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Army on the Dead, where he leads a group of criminals, who attempt to heist a Las Vegas Casino during a zombie outbreak. We have to wait and see if his character gets infected and then possibly become a undead, but either way he gets to star in a big and highly anticipated project featuring zombies.

He really believed in this movie, as he confirmed a few months ago, that he turned down a role in James Gunn’s highly anticipated The Suicide Squad in order to star in Army of the Dead.

Army of the Dead is set to hit Netflix in 2021.
