The DC Films’ sequel Shazam: Fury of the Gods, finds another antagonist in none other than Lucy Liu.
Lucy Liu Is Kalypso
The start of production of Shazam: Fury of the Gods is getting closer and so is the cast expanding. Lucy Liu will now join the cast as one of the villains.
She will be playing the villainess Kalypso. The character is the second daughter of Atlas and the sister of Hespera who has been confirmed to be portrayed by Helen Mirren, who was also cast a few weeks ago.
Lucy Liu is known for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill movies and the 2000’s Charlie’s Angels feature franchise. She also is the voice of Viper in the beloved animated franchise, Kung Fu Panda. Liu has spent the last few years in television with such shows as Why Women Kill and Elementary.
Besides the returning cast of the 2019’s original, Rachel Zegler, who is the star of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming West Side Story, has also been cast in the sequel in a yet undisclosed role.
