The Queen Of Mean, Cruella, will officially be available to all of her devilish and beloved subjects this weekend.
It has been announced by Walt Disney Studios that the live-action prequel of the hit classic, 101 Dalmatians will be available to all Disney Plus subscribers on Friday, August 27th. Cruella was seen as an underrated surprising hit. The film received mixed to positive reviews between fans and audiences this year with Emma Stone, gaining huge praise for her performance.
Cruella DeVil is considered one of Disney’s most iconic Villains. The villain made her appearance in the 1958 Children’s Novel ‘One Hundred and One Dalmatians‘ written by Dodie Smith. The novel became an instant classic and in return got adapted into an animated film produced by Disney on January 25th, 1961. Then a couple decades later in 1996, Disney made a live adaptation of the animated hit and it starred award-winning actress Glenn Close playing the role. The 1996 live-action film was hugely successful and was able to garner a sequel 102 Dalmatians in 2000 with Close reprising the role of Cruella.
Now the iconic torch has passed down to Stone as the live-action successor of DeVil. With high praise of Stone’s performance it wouldn’t be surprising if her rendition of the iconic Disney Villain becomes memorable and legendary. The Queen Of Mean has officially returned.

Cruella Official Press Release:
Brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad. Hello, Cruel World. Starting Friday, August 27, Disney+ subscribers will be able to enjoy the movie event that kicked off the summer, Disney’s “Cruella.” All the fun, fashion, and edge served up by Academy Award® winners Emma Stone and Emma Thompson will be available for streaming again and again, exclusively on Disney+.
Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs.
She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howard’s End,” “Sense and Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable, and revenge-bent Cruella.
“Cruella” stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Mark Strong. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie, with screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis, based upon the novel “The One Hundred and One Dalmatians” by Dodie Smith. “Cruella” is produced by Andrew Gunn, Marc Platt and Kristin Burr, p.g.a., with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers.
Cruella will be available to Disney+ subscribers on August 27th. Will this be your first time watching Cruella or are you excited to rewatch the movie? If so, then let us know what you thought about the film on Twitter!
