Harley Quinn, the HBOMax animated series from Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacher treated fans to a first look at the upcoming third season of the hit series.
Harley Quinn season three was announced months ago, something that Kaley Cuoco’s Harley Quinn sarcastically points out while setting up the video alongside King Shark. This panel was rather different from the other panels, in that the hosts were animated characters and not creatives from the real world. This format lead to some moments of trademark Harley Quinn comedy, like when King Shark ate the hard drive (which apparently looked like sushi) containing the season 3 trailer.
HARLEY QUINN SEASON THREE TRAILER REVEALED AT DC FANDOME
Luckily for fans of the Lake Bell and Kaley Cuoco-led TV series, the hard drive was able to upload the trailer wirelessly, bringing joy to DC fans, albeit at the cost of some discomfort for King Shark. The teaser is not finished, and generally lacks coloring and polish. Despite this, several massive teases for the upcoming third season of the show were revealed.

Iconic DC characters such as Amanda Waller, Swamp Thing, and what looks like a member of The Court Of Owls all make blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearances. The Swamp Thing fandom has often got the short end of the stick from DC over the past few years, so hopefully, his role in this animated series impresses fans of the other big green guy. Amanda Waller and Harley Quinn didn’t interact very much in The Suicide Squad, and this trailer makes me hope for a deeper story shared by the Clown Princess of Crime and “The Wall”. The Suicide Squad in the Harley Quinn animated universe previously tried to recruit Dr. Harleen Quinzel, even going so far as to send her branded T-shirts.
HARLEY QUINN SEASON THREE WILL FEATURE SWAMP THING, THE RETURN OF KITE MAN, AND MORE
Also featured prominently in the mention of the “Eat, Bang! Kill Tour”. There was a comic-book spinoff of the series titled “Harley Quinn The Animated Series: The Eat, Bang! Kill Tour”, which took place after place and before season two. That comic book was written by Tee Franklin, and illustrated by Max Sarin. The cover art for the first issue proudly displays Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy in a passionate embrace, something that DC Comics had fought hard to censor in the past. This comic followed Harley and Ivy as outlaws on the run from Jim Gordon and the GCPD. Ivy’s feelings of guilt for leaving Kite-Man at the alter were also explored here.

The Harley Quinn TV series is one of the DC Universe’s most progressive stories, and one of the only animated comic book adaptations to prominently feature a queer romance between leading characters. Season three picks up after the marriage of Harley and Ivy and promises to centrally focus on their new, romantically driven relationship. This unfinished look at the upcoming season ends with a colored image of the beloved couple standing in drop-dead-gorgeous, classy dresses.
HARLEY QUINN SEASON THREE WILL COME TO HBOMAX SOMETIME IN 2022
Also seen in the panel were looks at an enhanced version of Frank The Plant, the return of Kite-Man, and King Shark’s guarantee of “so many twists and turns”. The series will return for its third season sometime in 2022. Harley Quinn is a bloody, hyper-violent satirical take on the DC Universe, and is not suitable for younger audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
Harley Quinn on HBOMax stars Kaley Cuoco as Harley Quinn, Lake Bell as Poison Ivy, Tony Hale as Dr. Psycho, Ron Funches as King Shark, J.B. Smoove as Frank The Plant, Alan Tudyk as The Joker, and Giancarlo Esposito as Lex Luthor. What did you think of the DC FanDome panel for Harley Quinn season 3?
