Chris Evans is set to play Gene Kelly, putting on his dancing shoes just like another Avenger – Tom Holland – before him.
The untitled film has no studio attached yet and is based on an original idea conceived by Chris Evans himself.

Rian Johnson, who directed Evans in the box-office hit Knives Out, will produce the film with his and Ron Bergman’s production company. Three time Academy Award Winner John Logan (The Aviator, Skyfall) will produce the film alongside them and write the screenplay. Mark Kassen and Chris Evans will produce the project as well.
Chris Evans Takes On The Tap Dancing Legend
The film, as reported exclusively by Deadline, is about a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM Lot in 1952 and begins to create an imagined friendship with the legendary movie star Kelly while working on his next film.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland will play Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic at Sony Pictures, which will be produced by Amy Pascal. The two Marvel stars have clearly been branching out in recent years, and we can’t wait to see what they give us next.
