Sasha Banks and Naomi walk out on their Raw match and have some heat because of it.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio the Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks has received considerable heat after walking out of Raw.

People within WWE stated Sasha Banks has received some heat because of the incident, but those people are not in WWE management. They were also not completely aware of everything which had happened on Raw and what the fallout from it was or will be. There was no mention of Naomi by them, so it is not known if Naomi also has heat or if she will face any punishment because of the walk out.
WWE released a statement following the incident which lays out what exactly happened Monday.
“When Sasha Banks and Naomi arrived at the arena this afternoon, they were informed of their participation in the main event of tonight’s Monday Night Raw.
During the broadcast, they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk and walked out.
They claimed they weren’t respected enough as tag team champions. And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents even though they’d had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence. Monday Night Raw is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract.
We regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight’s main event.”
Card Subject To Change By The Boss And The Glow
The team were expected to perform so therefore them walking out forced WWE to scramble to fill their spots. The original plan was a Six-Pack match with Naomi and Sasha Banks with the winner facing Bianca Belair for her Raw Women’s Championship. This match then became a match between Asuka and Becky Lynch.
Following Monday night Sasha Banks has unfollowed all WWE related social media accounts. The only WWE related people she follows are Naomi, Tamina and John Cena. Neither Sasha Banks or Naomi have commented on what happened on Monday.
Sasha Banks and Naomi’s Side Of The Story…Perhaps
A Twitter account followed by Naomi tweeted an interesting series of tweets. He claims the pair were unhappy with how they have been used after winning the tag titles and upset WWE has not done anything to try and elevate the Women’s tag division. The pair were also upset that the plan for Raw was for them to compete as singles competitors and have Naomi pin Sasha Banks. This would have seen Naomi face Belair at Hell In A Cell. Sasha Banks and Naomi voiced their concerns for this kind of direction and the finish was changed to Naomi pinning Nikki A.S.H. This didn’t help their concerns and led them going back and forth with their boss and the match producer saying to “fix your attitudes” when their concerns were brought up.

WWE’s tag division, both men’s and women’s, have not been good for a very long time. Banks and Naomi having concern for how bad it is and wanting to improve it is completely understandable and realistic.
This Smells Like A Storyline To Me
However, this whole situation seems like a work. A lot of wrestlers have had issues with creative and this has never happened before. Banks has expressed concerns with her storylines before and she takes time off and comes back without a big statement from WWE. If this was real, WWE would have said nothing or a very brief “something happened in regards to Banks and Naomi before the show. The two will not be able to compete as advertised.” Banks missed SummerSlam last year and we still don’t know why. WWE only said her absence was because of “unforeseen circumstances.”
Banks and Naomi’s feelings are probably very real as far as concerns for their characters and their role as tag champions, but everything else is to set something up perhaps at this year’s SummerSlam.
