A new rumor gives us the exact release date of the highly anticipated third season of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars fans are currently very busy with the captivating Andor Disney+ series. The show has garnered a ton of critical acclaim and is even being praised as one of the best Disney+ original shows. While the first season only has 3 episodes left, the next show in a galaxy far, far away is coming closer and closer.

Back in May at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, Lucasfilm had many exciting things to reveal. The biggest one probably was the first trailer for the highly anticipated third season of The Mandalorian. As is often the case with those events pretty shortly after the panel a leaked version could be found online. But it still took Lucasfilm a whole four months to drop the first teaser trailer online during Disney’s D23 convention.

Attendees also got to see the first trailer for the spin-off series focusing on Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka. The studios also presented the first look at the new Disney+ show titled Skeleton Crew. It will focus on a group of children who have to navigate through the Galaxy. The show is being led by Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts, Captain Marvel).

But the highlight of the day was the trailer that reunited audiences with Mando and Grogu. The trailer showcased the main conflict between Mando and Kate Sackhoff’s Bo Katan. After Din Darin took off his helmet, he is no longer considered worthy of being a Mandalorian, and that is going to be explored in the beloved series’ third season. The trailer ends in the throne room on Mandalore teasing a showdown between the two warriors.

Fans obviously can’t wait to see more, and we now might have an answer to when they might be able to do that.

The trailer only advertised the February 2022 release window but MakingStarWars has now exclusively revealed that the third season will premiere on February 22, 2023.

But that’s not all as the outlet also has information as to when we might be getting a new look at the season. According to them, the official poster will drop on December 14, and Star Wars is also keen to gift fans a Christmas present as the final trailer is supposed to drop on December 24.

But the outlet was also able to reveal some details about the said trailer. The trailer is expected to clock in at just under 2 minutes and will introduce Christopher Lloyd’s “crusty old white dude” Mandalorian clan leader. The trailer is said to include a shot of a Mandalorian helmet with horns on the top, which is supposed to be for the Back to the Future star.

The adventures of Mando and his adoptive son Grogu struck a nerve with audiences around the globe. Creator Jon Favreau has already revealed that he is currently developing a fourth season of the hit show.

I am very much looking forward to seeing Mando and Grogu’s continuing adventures next year. The Mandalorian is my favorite Disney+ Star Wars show, so it’s always exciting when we get some news about it. I’m intrigued to see Christopher Lloyd as a Mandalorian leader.
