Another thespian has joined the cast of the highly anticipated threequel, Deadpool 3. Deadline reports that actor Emma Corrin (The Crown) has joined the cast for the upcoming Marvel film in an unknown role.

Details on Corrin’s role are unknown, but Deadline notes that they have been cast as a villain for the upcoming film.

EMMA CORRIN JOINS DEADPOOL 3 CAST

Corrin joins the cast opposite star and producer Ryan Reynolds, who once again returns as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, and also Hugh Jackman, who will don the claws once more as Logan, aka Wolverine. Deadline reports that Marvel Studios had been eying Corrin for the film going back to the holidays. However, Corrin had to work out a busy schedule for the Emmy-nominated talent before they could commit to the role. Corrin then signed on board in the past week after arrangements were settled.

Shawn Levy is directing the sequel with Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the writers of the first two films, penning the script. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin also wrote a previous draft of the script.

Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool film produced under the Marvel Studios banner after the first two films were produced at 20th Century Fox, with Marvel’s Kevin Feige working alongside Reynolds and the rest of the production team.

Corrin portrayed Lady Diana Spencer in Season 4 of the hit Netflix series, The Crown. The role earned them a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2021. Corrin also earned a Golden Globe Award and Critics Choice Award for their performance. They also appeared in the 2022 Amazon drama, My Policemen and the 2022 Netflix feature Lady Chatterly’s Lover.

Another major upcoming role for Corrin is part of the ensemble cast for Robert Eggers’ upcoming film, Nosferatu. The upcoming film will star Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard, and Nicholas Hoult. They also recently finished production on the upcoming FX limited series, Retreat.

Deadpool 3 Wolverine and Deadpool

Emma Corrin looks like a great casting choice. They are clearly a rising star who has been getting a lot of acclaim from some quality shows and has some other exciting projects in the works. It will be interesting to see what character that Levy, Reynolds, Feige, and the writers have in mind for Corrin.

Deadpool 2 introduced Cable and a more faithful interpretation of The Juggernaut to the big screen. It will be interesting to see if Deadpool 3 brings another famous Marvel villain from the comics to the forefront who Corrin will portray.

Deadpool 3 is currently in the works. With casting on the film currently well underway, hopefully, that means more casting news will start emerging soon. It will be interesting to see if Colossus and Negasonic from the first two films are also back for the next film.

The threequel is slated to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. While Jackman is returning to the role of Wolverine, and while Deadpool has messed around with time travel before, it’s stated that the fill will try undoing or touching the fate of Wolverine that occurs in the acclaimed 2017 film, Logan.
