Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning is nearly here and has been revealed to feature at New York Comic Con 2023.
The latest panel for the original Digimon Adventure series will feature the latest theatrical installment. The next release will finally feature the second generation of DigiDestined Kids as they work towards their future. The latest posters for the Digimon movie have also been released, which showcase the DigiDestined pairs and their shared DNA Digimon. Although a lot of previews have already been featured, the revealed panel teases a sneak preview of the upcoming release.

Digimon Adventure 02 was the second season sequel to the original Adventure Digimon series, featuring 4 new DigiDestined. Unlike the original DigiDestined, the group was able to access Armored Digivolutions and even DNA Digivolutions. Despite the 2020 reboot, movies continue to be released for the original series that reveal more of their story. So far, only the original 8 DigiDestined have featured in the reboot, with Davis, Yolei, Cody, and Ken exclusively appearing in the original timeline. The new movie finally features the 02 DigiDestined as they head toward their future seen in the Season 2 finale.
Digimon Adventure 02 to Feature at NYCC 2023
The original first two seasons of Digimon Adventure will feature at the upcoming New York Comic Con this October. The ‘Digimon Adventure – Past & Future’ panel will feature Toei Animation for a Q&A session, with the producer of the original anime series. This will also be followed by a special look at the upcoming new movie, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning. The panel will be held on October 13th at noon (EST) in Room 406.2 and will conclude at 13:00, but the content of the preview has yet to be revealed.

Character posters have also been released that feature the DigiDestined of the movie with the DNA Digimon that each pair shares. This includes Davis and Ken with Imperialdramon Dragon Mode, Yolei and Kari with Silphymon, and Cody and TK with Shakkoumon. A poster also features the new characters in the movie, Rui Owada, and the new Digimon Ukkomon. These posters match the poster art featured at Digifes 2023, but a large collection of posters has been released to count down the days until the release.
It’s an exciting reveal for the Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning movie, since a preview will be shared in the US. It will be fantastic to find out about the first two original seasons of Digimon Adventure. This is also a big occasion as the only release for the movie so far is in Japan. Hopefully, this panel may finally reveal the western release of the Adventure 02 movie since distribution outside of Japan has yet to be revealed.
The art of the new posters perfectly highlights the 02 DigiDestined that have been paired for DNA Digimon. However, it doesn’t seem that Armor Digimon will be the main feature in the movie, with visuals yet to confirm if they will appear. This would be a shame as many fans loved the Armor Digimon lines, but it’s great that TK and Kari will still have their bonds with Cody and Yolei. The most anticipated addition to the movie is whether Silphymon and Shakkoumon will ever Mega Digivolve. It will be exciting to find out when the movie finally drops, but the release does appear to be focused on Rui and Ukkomon’s story.

New York Comic Con will be held from October 12 to 15, 2023, in the Javits Center. The Digimon Adventure – Past & Future Panel will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, in Room 406.2, which will run from 12:00 to 13:00 EST.
