After a long search Marvel Studios finally found a writer for their upcoming movie Blade reboot, starring Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter.
Blade’s New Scribe
The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively broke the news, that Stacy Osei-Kuffour will write the upcoming movie.
She will be the first black female writer to pen a Marvel Studios movie. It was also reported that Marvel has searched for six months and it was described as a meticulous process in which Mahershala Ali was directly involved. Only Black writers were seriously considered, a reflection of Marvel’s focus on diversity and making representation a key factor.
Stacy Osei-Kuffour is mostly known for HBO’s critically acclaimed Watchmen series, for which she was part of the writing team. She is also know for Pen15, which earned her an Emmy-nomination for outstanding writing in a comedy series.Â

It was revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2019, that Marvel Studios is working on a Blade movie, with two-time Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali in the title role. Now as they finally found a writer we can hopefully expect some more news on the project in the following months. The next big news to drop should be who the new director will be.
