We see the protagonist Mei in her Panda form as she walks in her schools hallway, with her backpag on the shoulders. The other kids have surprised faces, but Mei looks a bit sad.

In Turning Red, Mei Lee is a confident, dorky thirteen-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. And as if changes to her interests, relationships, and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which for a teenager is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda!

The film is being written and directed by Domee Shi, who won an Oscar for her Pixar short-film Bao. Lindsey Collins (Wall-E, Finding Dory) is producing the film. Academy Award Winner Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet) is rumoured to be the composer.

Turning Red hits theatres March 11, 2022. What do you guys think? Are you excited for the film? How did you like Luca? Let’s discuss everything in the comments down below and on our Twitter.
