Spoilers follow…

Players of the original game know that Joel’s daughter dies at the start of the game, as soon as the zombie pandemic begins. Therefore it is expected that Parker’s part will be small, but Neil Druckmann, the creator of the game stated that certain events will play out differently in live-action. So, it remains to be seen if Sarah’s part will be the same in the game and the series, maybe we get to see some flashbacks or the like, which would enhance her role.

The HBO series will be adapted to the screen by Neil Druckmann and Chernobyl showrunner Craig Mazin. The pilot will be directed by Kantemir Balagov, with Jasmila Žbanić and Ali Abbas also set to helm episodes.
