2) Adam Warlock
While the first few selections on this list are for characters never mentioned in the MCU before, the runner-up choice for John Krasinski has been teased for years on end. This would be a fitting choice for the former star of The Office, considering his own arrival into the MCU has been the stuff of legend since he first auditioned for the franchise. On the cosmic side of the mega-franchise, the character most talked about before his own imminent arrival is regarded as one of the most powerful in all of Marvel comics: Adam Warlock.
His MCU debut has been teased a number of times. His cocoon was in the Collector’s museum both at the end of Thor: The Dark World and during the events of Guardians of the Galaxy, and he was mentioned by name when Ayesha discussed his birthing pod in the post-credits of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. With his golden glow and near perfect physical form, it isn’t hard to imagine Krasinski bringing this storied character to life to fight either with or against the Guardians. Plus, after his conversation with director James Gunn on Twitter, it is clear that people in the right places see him as a good fit for the role.
