Actor Patrick Wilson teases his return as Ocean Master in Aquaman 2 with a new Instagram photo.
The currently untitled Aquaman 2 is one of the most highly-anticipated films in the upcoming DC slate. During the DC FanDome event last year we got confirmation that Patrick Wilson was set to reprise the role of King Orm, aka Ocean Master, for James Wan’s DC sequel. Now the Watchmen actor revealed that he started shedding weight for the role in anticipation of production getting underway.
With Aquaman 2 set to begin shooting real soon, Patrick Wilson has begun training for his return as Ocean Master. A few days ago Amber Heard posted on Instagram to tease her return as Mera for the upcoming sequel, and costar Wilson has now followed suit with an Instagram post of his own.
Patrick Wilson Takes To IG To Hype Aquaman 2
Patrick Wilson posted a picture of a sweat-stained gym floor, with a trident emoji and the hashtags #guesswhosbackormisback and #brothersdontshakehandsbrothersgottahug. Taking the hashtags into consideration, does this mean we can expect Orm and Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry to be on the same team this time?
Check out the actor’s Instagram post below.
It isn’t clear just what Orm’s role in Aquaman 2 will be. At the end of the first Aquaman film, even though Aquaman defeated Ocean Master, the battle ended on a good note and Orm allowed himself to be led away by the Atlanteans. Since that time there’s been a lot of speculation that he’ll ultimately wind up joining his half-brother to combat a larger threat, maybe Black Manta.
We still don’t know anything about the plot, but it would make sense that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s David Hyde will finally be the main villain this time. Recently it was reported that Game of Thrones alum Pilou Asbaek has joined the cast as an unnamed character, becoming the first newcomer to sign on the blockbuster sequel.

Even though recently WB canceled their plans to make The Trench spin-off film, that doesn’t mean that the monstrous sea-dwellers will be absent from the sequel. Director James Wan’s created a great sequence with The Trench in the first film. Given his fondness for horror elements and deep-sea terrors, there’s a good chance that The Trench or some new dark creatures will feature again.
Aquaman 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022. How excited are you to dive deep into the ocean again in Aquaman 2?
