A new rumor suggests that Wookiees could be included in the the third season of The Mandalorian. Grab your pinch of salt and read on…
Season two of The Mandalorian ended with a bang due to the season having so many memorable moments. Whether it came to seeing the Darksaber in live-action for the first time, or the fact that Luke Skywalker himself came along to save the day and take Grogu under his wing. it was a rewarding season. At this time there isn’t much information known about what the next season will hold, even though there are numerous Star Wars projects to look forward to on the way, such as The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Bad Batch.
Are Wookiees Heading To Season 3 of The Mandalorian?
Well, we might now have an idea of what fans can expect from the Star Wars galaxy according to a new rumor.
An exclusive by Star Wars Insider Bespin Bulletin suggests that multiple sources close to the production of the series say that there are plans to bring in a Wookiee character, or a group of Wookiees into the third season. The outlet states that it’s unsure if the Wookiee is of any significance to the story, whether it’s a character that we’re familiar with, or if it’s simply a background character.
Since filming on the third season has not started yet, take the rumor with a grain of salt since there is no definitive proof of Wookiees showing up. We’ll have to wait and see if a confirmation comes to be true in the near future.
Seeing familiar aliens and planets is one thing that The Mandalorian does well, as the show has continued to expand into new corners of the galaxy. Din is no stranger to bumping into popular Star Wars characters along his adventures, imagine having Mando going toe to toe with Chewbacca himself, or a different Wookiee that was created specifically for the series.

Wookiees should be a no brainer as many of them were enslaved by the Empire after the Clone Wars and were taken off their home world. We even saw Chewbacca free a group of Wookiees in Solo: A Star Wars Story, so there has to be groups of Wookiees scattered around the galaxy. It’ll be interesting to see if Din Djarin makes a surprise visit to the Wookiee planet after the fall of the Empire, especially since the last time we saw Kashyyyk was in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.
The outlet also shared an update for the upcoming The Book of Boba Fett. Apparently the spinoff has wrapped production because “the sets have since been taken down.” So hopefully with that news filming might begin sooner than later.
The Mandalorian is expected to return sometime in 2022 exclusively on Disney+. What do you think about this juicy rumor? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below or over on our social media!
