Jon Favreau appeared on Good Morning America where he revealed the logo and talked a bit about why they held announcing this show back during Disney Investors Day.

It has also been confirmed that The Book Of Boba Fett will not only star Temuera Morrison as the titular bounty hunter, but Ming-Na Wen will reprise her role as Fennec Shand. JON FAVREAU ON THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT SPIN-OFF

“At the end of the show Boba Fett came out and it said The Book Of Boba Fett coming Christmas, excuse me coming December of 2021. And that wasn’t a part of the big Disney announcement…We wanted to hold this back because we didn’t want to spoil the surprise during the big Disney announcement of all the shows when Kathleen Kennedy was up there. And so, they let me keep this one a secret. So, this is actually separate from The Mandalorian season three.

But, what we didn’t say in that announcement is that the next show coming up, Kathy said the next chapter, and that’s going to be The Book Of Boba Fett. And then we go into production right after that on season three of The Mandalorian back with the main character that we all have known and love. So that’s going to be pretty soon following that. So, we’re working on that pre-production now while we’re in production on Boba Fett.”

The Book Of Boba Fett was first announced during the season finale of The Mandalorian with the memorable post credit scene where he and Fennec raided Jabba the Hut’s palace. Fennec stormed the palace followed by Boba Fett who kills nearly everyone in sight including Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s old employee who had seemingly taken over the former crime boss’ business. Boba quickly dispatches Fortuna and takes his place on Jabba’s thrown with his ally Fennec beside him. Considering Boba and Fennec will return for The Book Of Boba Fett it wouldn’t be surprising if the series focuses on the pair taking over the criminal underworld on Tatooine.
