As shooting for Ms Marvel continues, we get our first look at the new MCU costume in action.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision have both proven to be smash hits for Marvel Studios and their new exploration of the streaming market on DIsney+. With the success of those two shows and with buzz growing for their next Disney+ series, Loki, it’s easy to understand getting lost in the shuffle.
However, another huge project on the slate that Marvel Comics fans are salivating over is Ms Marvel. The new series is currently filming and boasts the live-action debut of Kamala Khan, one of Marvel Comics more popular characters to be created in the past couple of decades. Iman Vellani was cast as the newest superhero in the MCU and since shooting began last year she has been spotted on set several times.
The New Look For Ms Marvel
However, recently Vellani was seen on the set sporting a much more familiar look to readers of Marvel. Thanks to spy photos courtesy of Just Jared, we all now have our first look at the live-action costume for Ms. Marvel.
The new costume brings to mind other faithful comic adaptations from the past of the MCU and immediately has the recognizable signature of the superhero studio.

In the photo, it appears that Khan’s Ms Marvel is confidently stepping onto a crime scene. Her assuredness could be an indication that this is a scene towards the end of the first season. Judging by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision, it seems that Marvel Studios has established a precedent for using their Disney+ series to build up to the debut of a new look for their titular characters, typically in the final episode. All you have to do is look no further than the final look of the Scarlet Witch or the reveal of Sam Wilson’s new Captain America costume.
The Ms Marvel costume is a faithful adaptation, even down to the lightning bolt design across the chest. The material seems to provide protection and will presumably be able to stretch and expand along with Khan when she uses her shapeshifting powers.

While this is just a small treat for eager fans, it’s a solid indication that there is surely much more to come from the production, both official and unofficially. There is a lot still to uncover in the new series and if you want a head start take a look at at the numerous stories that we broke over the past year. Hopefully, we will be getting a full teaser trailer in the months to come, after Marvel whet viewer’s appetite with a behind-the-scenes look last year.
