Patton Oswalt the star of Hulu’s latest animated show M.O.D.O.K. has said he would love to play a live-action version of the character in the MCU.

M.O.D.O.K. is an upcoming adult stop motion animated series headed to Hulu which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Patton Oswalt is the co-creator and the voice for the titular villain. This show is produced by Marvel Television and Marvel Animation and is not related to Marvel Cinematic Universe in any form.

The supervillain character was a genius AIM scientist named George Tarleton, before undergoing mutagenic experiments and becoming a giant head in a floating chair with a supercomputer brain. He is an iconic villain popular among Marvel Comics fans.

Patton Oswalt is no stranger to the Marvel Universe as he previously had a recurring role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, the actor admitted that he would love the opportunity to play a live-action version of the classic villain in the MCU.

When Oswalt was asked about the possibility of that happening down the line, he said “Are you kidding? That’d be freaking awesome if we played M.O.D.O.K. live-action. Oh my God. I would love it. Plus it’s an acting job where I get to sit down the whole time. Are you kidding? I’d love that.”

He also talked about his excitement for seeing MODOK get a live-action treatment in general, despite who played the role, and he certainly believes that this character could work in a live-action setting.

“With the stuff that they’re doing now with, with animation and combining animation and live-action, it just gets better and better every movie. The idea of creating this thing doing it live-action with either taking someone’s face and changing it…absolutely [I think it could work.]”

“And it would even be more amazing if you do a combination of animation and practical, like build the suit build the chair and have that be part of it so that there’s that feeling of solidity there I think would be amazing.”

Last year there have been rumblings that we might see a live-action MODOK in the MCU at some point. Plus the A.I.M. organization was already established in the MCU in Iron Man 3. It was previously rumored that MODOK was in Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man 3 script that got scrapped.

With Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror being the main villain in the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania that may not be the case anymore. Or maybe we could simply see George Tarleton make his live-action debut, which will establish the character and his origin within the larger MCU in that film. We will have to wait and see.
