Ring of Honor has spoken, and the words were harsh.
Where were you when wrestling died? Okay, okay, I may be overreacting and speaking in hyperbole. Where were you when wrestling took a shooting star press and was written off for four months?

If you don’t know what I’m referring to, it’s the hiatus that Ring Of Honor (RoH) is taking, so let’s talk about it.
Ring of Honor’s Declaration
On the night of October 27th at 12:24 pm PST, the promotion posted a statement to their twitter page basically announcing that they were going on a hiatus after “The Final Battle” (their PPV event slated for the 11th of December) to work internally and to reimagine Ring of Honor.
That’s right, they want to reconceptualize the promotion. Am I the only one that’s freaking out thinking they will go the route of NXT 2.0? If I am the only one, that is a good thing because they stated that it will only be four months According to their announcement, they will return to live events in April for the Super Card of Honor.
P.W. Insider’s Mike Johnson reports that the decision to shelf RoH was made about a week ago. Even though RoH COO, Joe Koff fought hard to prevent the shelving, Sinclair Broadcast group, who own RoH made the final call. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE… So immediately we are all worried about the current talent at RoH.
Thank glob for Dave Meltzer, who reported shortly after this that RoH has released all wrestlers under contract. Brian Alverez of Figure Four Online is also reporting that contracted talent will not have their contracts renewed and are allowed to work anywhere they want immediately. They will also be paid through the end of the year. However, they will finish out remaining ROH dates for 2021. It’s been reported that people with contracts beyond this year will be paid until the 31st of March 2022.
I say all this to say… “has anyone checked with Jay Lethal, for the love of glob…what does Jay Lethal have to say? Will someone PLEASE just think of Jay Lethal?”
What do you think will happen to the Ring of Honor talent? Let us know in the comments below.
