Sister of the Groom has a lot going for it, but not much of it is new.
Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do) star in a destination wedding weekend gone off the rails. San Films’ description of the movie, which will be available on December 18, goes as follows:

Audrey (Silverstone) struggles with turning 40 while meeting her new seemingly perfect sister-in-law. With every intention of breaking up the happy couple, Audrey and her loyal husband (Scott) throw the weekend into a tailspin of embarrassing series of mishaps that make this destination wedding truly unforgettable.
Sister Of The Groom Follows In Well-Worn Footsteps
Sister of the Groom is a fine movie. There is just nothing that stands out. All characters are one dimensional and just the typcial caricature of character types that have to be in this sort of movie. The performances are all ok, but there is no one who stood out. The story has been told a million times before, in worse or better ways. For a romantic comedy it isn’t funny nor romantic, it just feels lifeless.
The only thing that I liked was the colour grading, which was pretty great. It made the white dresses and suits, the green trees and the light brown interior decorations stand out and through that created some solid looking imagery.
If the trailer does peak your interest, you will get exactly what you want, if not, there is no need for you to watch this movie.
