In his livestream on Tuesday, Amell was asked if he would ever appear on any of the DC Arrowverse shows, now that Arrow has ended. “No, I’m done,” Amell answered. “That was good. It was a good eight years but it was time to be done.”
Stephen Amell and Arrow Sparked a Universe
Arrow premiered in 2012 and kicked off an entire DC television universe on the CW. The ambitions continued to grow and included large scale crossovers between multiple shows, culminating in last year’s Crisis On Infinite Earths.
Arrow ended earlier this year with Amell’s titular character sacrificing himself to save his loved ones and the universe as a whole. However, Arrow’s legacy lives on in The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman. Although it could have an even more direct lineage, if the spin-off Green Arrow and the Canaries gets picked up. When Amell was asked about Green Arrow and the Canaries, which aired its backdoor pilot during Arrow’s final season, he had no updates about if it will be picked up for the 2021-2022 season

Amell talked about watching the season 2 premier of Roswell New Mexico Monday night on the CW. “It was actually really, really weird to watch the CW again,” He said. “It was weird seeing promos for Supergirl and Flash and Batwoman again. It seems like a different lifetime. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.”

Amell like many others in Hollywood is waiting to start production on his current project Starz Heels which has been interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Heels will be an 8-episode drama set in the world of small town pro wrestling. Amell is a longtime fan of professional wrestling and as participated in the wrestling before in WWE, Ring of Honor, and All In.
“I was getting ready to shoot my new show Heels and that’s been put on hold indefinitely,” Amell told the livestream. “That’s frustrating because I was getting excited. We’ve got an amazing cast. It’s going to be awesome. But for the moment my training has stopped.”
