I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 90’s slasher movie classic and Amazon is planning to relaunch the franchise as a series based on the 1997 film. This is something that fans of the franchise have been eagerly awaiting.
The Illuminerdi has uncovered new character details for the four friends that will be at the center of the series.
I Know What You Did Last Summer Reboot New Characters
The remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer will follow a similar story as the film. In a town full of secrets, four teenagers are being stalked by an unknown killer a year after they were involved in a fatal accident on their graduation night.
The four characters include: Julie James, a 19-year-old who is wracked with guilt after she and her friends hit a pedestrian while driving. She is the only one who wants to go to the police after the accident, but the others manage to talk her out of it. Julie is also dealing with her feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Ray Bronson, who was involved in the accident as well.
Ray Bronson is 19 years old and was driving the car when he and his friends hit the pedestrian. He’s also Julie’s ex-boyfriend.
Helen Shivers is a 19-year-old aspiring actress who just doesn’t have what it takes to make it. She was in the car with her friends on the night of the fatal accident.
Barry Cox is also 19 years old and the owner of the car that Ray was driving when he hit the pedestrian. Barry is dealing with alcohol abuse.
While the formula for I Know What You Did Last Summer is a familiar one, it will be interesting to see the twists and turns that these characters must face in the upcoming series. It looks like I Know What You Did Last Summer will begin production in Hawaii in late January 2021 and will be 8 episodes.
