The Man From Toronto The Hitman's Bodyguard crossover

Patrick Hughes delivers another hilarious action packed buddy cop style adventure in his newest movie The Man From Toronto. Similar in tone to his famous The Hitman’s Bodyguard movies, The Man From Toronto brings two unlikely characters together forcing them to work together in order to survive. The Man From Toronto follows Teddy (Kevin Hart) while at an Air BnB with his wife he is mistaken for The Man From Toronto an infamous assassin and interrogator.

When the FBI finds Teddy and he explains the situation he is forced to work with them in an attempt to thwart an assassination. However, while undercover the real Man From Toronto (Woody Harrelson) arrives throwing Teddy into even more danger and chaos as he is forced to work with the assassin if he has any hope of surviving.

PATRICK HUGHES WANTS A CROSSOVER BETWEEN THE MAN FROM TORONTO AND THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD

The Illuminerdi had the opportunity to speak with Patrick Hughes about his new action comedy Netflix movie. During our interview Patrick revealed that he would love to bring The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Man From Toronto together in an epic comedy and action filled crossover. We also asked him which assassin would win in a fight The Man From Toronto or Darius Kincaid.

“Oh. Geez. I did consider that on set. I actually think we need to spin off. Because, those two, I don’t know how much comedy would be in that. Other then, that would be a straight, harder action thrill up.”

A more action based spin-off could be an exciting possibility especially if it establishes that both The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Man From Toronto are set within the same world. If this were the case it could be an interesting way to explore each of these character’s pasts perhaps showing them working within similar circles as assassins. While both The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Man From Toronto have some truly impressive action sequences and stunt work comedy is at the heart of the stories. A more straight action movie would be a chance for Patrick Hughes to show off his skills as a director in a new way.

When we shared our thoughts about both these movies coexisting within the same universe Patrick Hughes seemed to be on board with the idea pitching not only a crossover, but teasing what it could look like.

“We need a crossover. Because I think Ryan Reynold’s character, Michael Bryce in The Hitman Bodyguard franchise, has some similarities to Kevin Hart’s character in Man From Toronto. I think those two would be a bumbling mess, between them.”

The pure insanity of teaming up Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, and Woody Harrelson seems like it could be a truly bonkers comedy in the best way. The possibility of seeing how these characters could come together with Hart’s character being thrown into an even crazier situation, while the others have experience in this world would have a lot of comedy potential. It could also be a way to examine how these characters can connect as well as how they differ. Seeing how these duos interact and connect could prove to be an exciting, action packed, laugh filled adventure
