In the past few months, The Illuminerdi has been theorizing we could be seeing The Hood debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, we’re breaking down who the character is and how he could fit into the MCU.

Who Is The Hood?
In the comics, Parker Robbins is The Hood. Robbins is a run-of-the-mill thief, but after killing a demon and stealing his magical cloak and boots, he gains the ability to levitate and turn invisible when he is holding his breath.

While growing up he wished to be a superhero like Daredevil, however he would lead the life of a villain. Robbins used his newfound powers to steal a shipment of diamonds being imported by an organized crime syndicate, but in the process killed a police officer. He went on the run and was given the name of “The Hood”.
The Hood In Ironheart?
A while back, The Illuminerdi came across a casting description for the upcoming Ironheart series that seemed to correspond with The Hood. Could the character be the villain in the project? We think it’s a possibility.
Ironheart is set to follow Riri Williams as an Iron Man legacy character. As one of the few heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe without special abilities, she could have constructed her own Iron Man suit to allow her to stand toe-to-toe with the world’s strongest. To paraphrase the great Tony Stark, he’s just a man in a can. Her character will certainly be inspired by Stark’s heroics in the upcoming series, but could have more in commission with him than just that.

Stark had a tendency to prepare for the worst, as often the worst was coming. Riri Williams’ experience with The Snap, whether she survived or not, likely scarred her, realizing there are threats in the universe she can’t stand up to. This kind of existential dread could lead Riri to become Ironheart.
Ironheart Vs. The Hood?
While The Hood would be a bit of a surprising villain for Ironheart, given he leans more magical than technological, that could be what makes Ironheart differ from Iron Man. Tony Stark didn’t deal much with magic aside from experimenting on the Mind Stone and using The Infinity Gauntlet (the latter getting him killed) so having Riri Williams utilize her intelligence and skills with technology to fight off a potential supernatural enemy would be very interesting.

Ironheart already looks to differ from Iron Man by potentially utilizing Wakandan technology and perhaps even Vibranium. Her character is said to debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she could be experimenting with Wakandan materials. With Wakandan outreach potentially playing a role in Ironheart’s armor, it could make her a target of The Hood.
Could Riri Williams Be Targeted By The Hood?
Assuming her suit contains Vibranium, it will be worth even more than prior Iron Man suits, as the material is incredibly expensive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not to mention the fact that people have already been trying to get their hands on Stark tech since 2008’s Iron Man.

Allowing Riri Williams to face off against what could be one of her greatest fears while protecting her Ironheart suit would be a great way to have the character diverge from Iron Man, while still dealing with the responsibility of owning advanced technology.
