THE RUMOR
The post claims that The Thing will have be featured in the final three episodes of the series, where he will be fighting a defamation case against The Wrecking Crew. What makes this rumor even more exciting is that according to the original poster, he will be played by Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother, The Muppets, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) via motion capture. This would be done in the same fashion as Josh Brolin’s portrayal of Thanos. The user claims that Segel’s The Thing was meant to debut in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

To wrap up the rumor, the user claims he will share screen time with both She-Hulk and Daredevil, the latter being heavily rumored to appear in the series for months now.
IS THIS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? PROBABLY…
You might be saying to yourself, “this sounds too good to be true”, and you wouldn’t be alone in that thought process. 4Chan leaks are always something to be taken with the smallest grain of salt, and we highly recommend you stay away from the site if possible. We would not have been made aware if it hadn’t made its way to Reddit.
As great as this sounds, it also reads a bit like fan-fiction. While it would not be impossible for the powerhouse of The Fantastic Four to debut in a project other than the team’s upcoming titular film, we don’t expect it to be She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. While fans would love to see Jennifer Walters defend The Thing in court against the antagonists of the series, The Wrecking Crew, the character would have to already be established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As of now, no Fantastic Four members exist on Earth-616. The only member of the team to appear in the MCU thus far was Reed Richards of Earth-838, who is probably now dead. We believe The Fantastic Four are coming to our screens soon, but we would be surprised if it was as early as this fall.
WE HOPE WE’RE WRONG
Of course, we at The Illuminerdi would love to see Segel take on the role of Ben Grimm. His comedic abilities are without question among the best in the film and television industry, and with his knack for physical comedy, he would be a great fit. Not to mention, Jason Segel and The Thing are both Jewish, making him an excellent fit for the role.
The Thing has been considered an honorary member of The Hulk family in the comics, so it would not be completely out of line to have him debut in this series.

Having She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’s run end with her defending The Thing alongside Daredevil would be an incredible sight, and would certainly bring in a record amount of viewers.
While we believe that The Thing is unlikely to appear in the series, we definitely hope that we are wrong.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law hits Disney+ August 17th, 2022. What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you think The Thing will appear in the She-Hulk series? Let us know in the comments and on our Twitter!
