The Bad Batch have already managed to make themselves enemies of the newly formed Empire, which is in the process of becoming the powerful evil that all Star Wars fans know. The Bad Batch is clearly a successor to The Clone Wars not only because of the titular characters, who were introduced in the final season of Clone Wars, but because the series takes place as the Empire rises after the end of the Clone War.
The first three episodes of The Bad Batch featured a number of familiar faces including Admiral Tarkin and Emperor Palpatine. It also showed Crosshair being controlled by the inhibitor chip and becoming an enemy of his own team.
With the Bad Batch now on the run from the Empire and likely their former teammate, Crosshair, it looks they’ll have no shortage of enemies. Fennec Shand, who first appeared in The Mandalorian, has been spotted in a couple trailers for The Bad Batch and in one she is shown fighting against Hunter. And with her reputation she could be on the hunt for these clones. It wouldn’t be a surprise to learn there are more people hunting the group, especially with the Empire after them. And the Bad Batch even admits their list of friends is short.
The Clone Wars has a number of exciting antagonists that The Bad Batch could pull from to fight against the team of enhanced clones. Below are the top 5 Clone Wars characters that could be potential enemies of the Bad Batch who haven’t been shown in the first two episodes or trailers.
TOP 5 POTENTIAL CLONE WARS ENEMIES
CAD BANE
Cad Bane is a bounty hunter who was first introduced in The Clone Wars when he broke into the Republic Senate and held a number of Senators hostage, including Padme Amidala, as part of a prison break. He made numerous appearances throughout the series proving his prowess as a bounty hunter and willingness to take any job if the price was right. Cad Bane didn’t make any appearances after The Clone Wars so this character’s future is completely open for the creators to explore.

With the Bad Batch on the run from the Empire and possibly with Fennec Shand after them, it wouldn’t be surprising to see other bounty hunters join the chase. Cad Bane demonstrated his skill to Palpatine more than once, notably when he abducted Force sensitive children for Palpatine in season 2 in what seemed to be the early stages of the Inquisitor program. Although Bane was arrested in the fifth season, it wouldn’t be difficult for someone high ranking in the Empire to use him to hunt down the Bad Batch, especially if the right price is a ticket out of prison.
BOBA FETT
Another potential bounty hunter who could be even more interesting is Boba Fett, a clone himself. During the time of the Clone War Boba’s father Jango Fett, the original source for the Clone Troopers, was killed by Jedi Mace Windu. Boba swore revenge, but failed. After his failure he used his contacts with Jango’s old friends and became a bounty hunter and criminal. By the time the Empire was at the height of their power Boba was one of the top bounty hunters often working for Jabba the Hutt.
Boba Fett would be an especially intriguing character to make an appearance in The Bad Batch. Boba has never shown a kinship to his fellow clones, even going so far as to nearly killing them in his pursuit of vengeance, he likely wouldn’t show the Bad Batch any sympathy while in pursuit. This opens up the potential for The Book of Boba Fett set up as well.

Although Boba and Fennec didn’t know each other before he saves her, it wouldn’t be difficult to believe they knew of each other as two infamous bounty hunters and killers. Seeing the pair competing from afar for a bounty on the Bad Batch could add an unexpected layer to their dynamic on the highly anticipated series, The Book of Boba Fett.
