The first two episodes of The Bad Batch made it clearer than ever that this new series is a successor to the fan favorite animated series, The Clone Wars. With the Bad Batch first introduced in the final season of The Clone Wars and the new series taking place as the Empire rises to power after the end of the Clone War, it wasn’t a surprise to see some familiar faces.
In the premiere, The Bad Batch brought in characters from not only Clone Wars, but Star Wars as a whole with prime examples being Emperor Palpatine and Admiral Tarkin. Other Clone Wars characters include Saw Gerrera, the countless other clones, the Kaminoans, and even the droid Fives befriended on Kamino, AZ. And in the second episode the Clone Trooper deserter Cut Lawquane, his wife Suu and their children were revealed to be friends of the Bad Batch. The second episode also included the first mention of fan favorite Clone Trooper Rex who made an appearance in The Bad Batch trailer.
The Bad Batch will undoubtedly feature other Clone Wars characters during the series who are yet to be revealed. And with the Bad Batch on the run along with Omega, they’ll need all the help they can get.
TOP 5 POTENTIAL CLONE WARS ALLIES IN THE BAD BATCH
Below are 5 potential allies to the Bad Batch from The Clone Wars, who haven’t appeared in the first two episodes or any of the trailers, that we want to see in The Bad Batch.
HONDO OHNAKA
Hondo Ohnaka was first introduced in The Clone Wars when he kidnapped and ransomed Separatist leader and Sith, Count Dooku, along with Jedis Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Notorious pirate and leader of the Ohnaka Gang, Hondo constantly encountered Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padawan Ahsoka Tano throughout the Clone War in both an adversarial and helpful role depending on which option would be most useful to Hondo and his goals. When Hondo debuts in Rebels, which takes place roughly 15 years after the Empire gains power, he is no longer the leader of his own pirate gang instead a solitary small-time smuggler.

Hondo’s story continuing into The Bad Batch would make sense given the fact that the Bad Batch will be looking for work now that they are no longer Republic soldiers and are on the run from the Empire. But, what would make the appearance of Hondo in The Bad Batch so interesting is seeing the start of how the once infamous pirate lost his power with the rise of the Empire.
CLONE COMMANDER WOLFFE
Commander Wolffe was a commander in the Republic Army during the Clone War often serving under Jedi Master Plo Koon. It’s revealed in Rebels that Wolffe, like Rex, removed his inhibitor chip. With Rex being shown in the trailer working with the Bad Batch this series is the perfect opportunity to find out how Wolffe escaped the Empire’s control. The inhibitor chips are already a prominent storyline in The Bad Batch, especially because of Crosshair.
By filling in the blanks between Clone Wars and Rebels for Wolffe, The Bad Batch has the opportunity to look at a different story of a clone removing their inhibitor chip. Rex’s chip was removed before he could kill Ahsoka and the pair escaped, but what if instead Wolffe’s was removed after the Jedi purge. This opens up the possibility of him dealing with the guilt of being a part of the purge and understanding what it’s like for the other clones who are still under the control of the chips.
