Captain Marvel Is Rumored To Have This Unbelievable New Super Power In The Marvels [SPOILERS]

This surprising new Captain Marvel rumor will bring a whole lot of new energy into The Marvels and the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Captain Marvel

The Marvels focuses on the return of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan and Photon/Monica Rambeau, portrayed by Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris respectively, as they attempt to figure out the mystery behind why they switch places every time they use their powers. A new rumor sheds more light on the nature of Captain Marvel’s powers in the MCU film.

The New Rumor And A Comics-Faithful Surprise in The Marvels

Noted superhero movie scooper, @canwegetsometoast, confirmed Carol’s Binary form from the comics will appear in the upcoming film on Instagram. Previously, Carol’s Binary form was seemingly revealed in a leaked image of a Funko figure.

Carol’s Binary form and superhero identity was created by famed X-Men writer, Chris Claremont, and artist Dave Cockrum, first appearing in “The Uncanny X-Men Issue #164”, in an arc where Carol’s powers were amplified by an alien race named The Brood.

In her Binary form, Carol’s energy powers are enhanced to an insanely epic degree, allowing her to manipulate energy and light in a far grander fashion than before.

How Captain Marvel’s Binary Form Is A Perfect Addition To The Marvels

I highly suspected some kind of nod to Carol’s comic book adventures with the X-Men will be included in The Marvels, but I actually didn’t expect for her Binary form to make an appearance, if the rumor is true. The inclusion of Carol’s Binary form makes a lot of sense, considering The Marvels‘ strong focus on the trio’s superpowers.

Since The Marvels may feature Captain Marvel traveling across the galaxy, she could encounter The Brood or another alien race, in an attempt to fix the superpowers issue the three characters have. The issue could be more than fixed by the third act, leading to the appearance of Captain Marvel’s Binary form to finish off presumably, Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn, in the final battle.

If The Marvels does use Carol’s powers in this manner, other nods to the comics, like Ms. Marvel fighting with her proper stretching powers for a moment, could be utilized in the film.

One nod to Carol’s adventures with the X-Men I still feel will be featured in The Marvels, with the rumored inclusion of Carol’s Binary form now strengthening this theory, is a cameo from Rogue of the X-Men. Rogue’s powerset of taking the powers of other superheroes through touch would make her a natural addition to The Marvels‘ powers-centric plot.

Rogue’s hypothetical appearance in The Marvels can also call back to the history between Captain Marvel and Rogue from the comics, which was first alluded to in “The Avengers Annual Issue #10”, also written by Chris Claremont. A potential cameo by Rogue in The Marvels would be another hint at the X-Men in the MCU, like Ms. Marvel being revealed to be a mutant in her Disney + series of the same name.

Overall, the rumored appearance of Captain Marvel’s comics-accurate Binary form in The Marvels has many implications for The Marvels‘ plot and how the greater Marvel lore will be depicted in future MCU installments.
