Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was an insane thrill ride with a lot more violence and deaths than most expected. This film tore through the Marvel Multiverse, but also established an exciting future for our core Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Before we get started I’ll issue a spoiler warning.Â
SPOILERS FOR DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

In the climax of the film, Doctor Strange took a play out of his Sinister Variant’s book and utilized The Darkhold. As we found out in the final scene of the film, Stephen Strange has been forever changed. Like Sinister Strange, he has grown a third eye on his forehead. This has in fact happened in the comics, and we’re excited to see the direction Marvel Studios takes with this twist.
The Debut of Clea!
As we saw in the first post-credits scene, seemingly not too long after the final scene, Strange meets a new character, and one that is very popular in the comics. On a walk, Clea appears, played by Charlize Theron, telling Strange he has caused an incursion. She requests his help as he agrees.
In the comics, Clea is among the strongest sorcerers in the Marvel Universe. Throughout her history, she’s been a sorcerer, the wife of Doctor Strange, and is also Dormammu’s niece. Clea in the comics currently acts as The Sorcerer Supreme in the wake of the death of Doctor Strange.

This scene gives us a very exciting tease for Doctor Strange’s next outing, likely being Doctor Strange 3. The third Doctor Strange installments looks to feature a corrupted Strange with Clea trying to save a world from incursion.
Bruce Campbell’s Suffering Ends

The second post-credits scene was much more for laughs, featuring Bruce Campbell’s Pizza Ball Vendor finally having the spell causing him to beat himself ending, with the character looking into the camera announcing the end of the film. A very Sam Raimi ending. Campbell had previously starred in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series, as well as various cameos in Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy.
Is Secret Wars Next?
Going forward, what do these teases mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did a nice job setting up the characters for their potential sequels. While Doctor Strange 3 received a proper setup, we could also be in for a Secret Wars adaptation in the future.
