DCEU fans have a new reason to smile, as The Suicide Squad has been announced to be participating in CCXP.
Because of the global pandemic, this years SDCC and many other Comic Con’s had to be cancelled, but we also got one massive digital event: DC Fandome. But that’s not the only virtual convention that’s going to happen. Next week the CCXP will take place and it was just confirmed that James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad will have a panel there. Is this a sign that the first trailer is on the way?
Comic Con Experience (also known simply as CCXP) is a Brazilian multi-genre entertainment and comic convention. It is based on the San Diego Comic Con and has attractions and contents about comics, TV series, movies, video games, literature and internet. It is the largest pop culture festival in the world. It will take place from December 4 – December 6.
WB Announces The Suicide Squad at CCXP
The official Warner Bros’ Brasil Twitter account just dropped the news that The Suicide Squad will have a panel on December 6.
At last year’s CCXP, before the pandemic, the big panel was the Wonder Woman 1984, where the first official trailer premieres. At that point, the sequel was scheduled to be released in theatres on June 5, 2020. So around seven months before the planned official release Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5, 2021, around nine months after the panel. It does seem like a perfect time to drop the first trailer, as CCXP is a big event and will definitely attract the attention of fans worldwide. It also would be the next step in the marketing campaign, which started with a behind-the-scenes video and character reveal at DC Fandome and then a cover story in Empire Magazine, which also revealed new official stills.
With a trailer drop, The Suicide Squad would be this year’s big panel, so we should definitely keep an eye on the CCXP Twitter account as last year the premiere of the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer was announced a few days before the panel.

But take all of this with a grain of salt as it this point it’s just speculation, the only confirmed thing is that the movie will have a panel on Sunday December 6 (the Wonder Woman 1984 panel also took place on Sunday, the last day of the convention).
