Actress Jameela Jamil has joined the cast of the DC League of Super-Pets animated film.

The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil who is going to star in the upcoming Marvel’s She-Hulk series is now entering the DC franchise as well. Jamil has revealed the news herself that she joined the voice cast of the DC League of Super-Pets animated feature.

Her Marvel casting came to light a month ago but recently we at The Illuminerdi reported that Jameela Jamil is playing the infamous villain Titania in the Disney+ series and it has been confirmed immediately by the trades. Though Marvel has yet to make it official.

While Jameela Jamil has not confirmed any news about her MCU role, she has announced that she’s joining a new DC-based project. The actress on her social media announced that she is joining the already impressive cast of the upcoming DC animated movie, DC League of Super-Pets. She shared her excitement for the project saying “One. Step. Closer. To. Keanu” since he is one of the cast. However, she didn’t share which character she’ll be voicing.

Jamil on her Instagram said “Life is extremely getting increasingly silly at the moment. PS. I’m such a super fan of all of these people. I’m going to nerd out so hard at the premiere. Expect many embarrassing selfies. Sorry in advance.”

In May 2021, it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star as the voice of Man of Steel’s loyal pooch, Krypto the Superdog. That news was followed by a small teaser two weeks ago revealing the rest of the A-list ensemble cast and the title logo of the animated film.

The Black Adam star is joined by his frequent collaborator Kevin Hart (Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle) who is voicing Ace the Bat-Hound. The rest of the cast includes Kate McKinnon (GhostbustersBombshell), John Krasinski (A Quiet PlaceThe Office), Vanessa Bayer (TrainwreckSNL), Natasha Lyonne (Russian DollOrange Is the New Black), Diego Luna (Rogue OneNarcos: Mexico), and Keanu Reeves (John WickThe Matrix) but none of their characters were announced.

Jameela Jamil will be a great addition to the cast with her comedic chops and experience in a sitcom with NBC’s The Good Place. She has done voice acting roles in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and DuckTales.

League of Super Pets is based on Jerry Siegel and Curt Swain’s Legion of Super-Pets team, in which the pets of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl fight crime together. Krypto (Pet of Kal-El) and Ace (Pet of Batman) have made television appearances, with the latter appearing on Batman Beyond and the former leading an animated series for 2 seasons and 39 episodes from March 2005-December 2006.

Jared Stern (The Lego Batman Movie) wrote the script and is co-directing with Sam Levine (Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero). Johnson also produces the film through his Seven Bucks Productions along with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, and Nicholas Stoller serve as executive producers.

The premise of the animated film says: “The pets of DC superheroes (Superman’s dog, Krypto; Batman’s dog, Ace the Bat-Hound; Wonder Woman’s kangaroo, Jumpa; and Supergirl’s cat, Streaky the Supercat) form a crime-fighting team of their own.”
