How Could Hulkling Join the MCU?

Who Is Hulkling?

Hulkling

First, I’ll give a quick rundown of who exactly Hulkling is. Theodore (Teddy) Altman is a Kree and Skrull hybrid with the ability to transform into nearly anything, though he chooses more often than not a form similar to the Hulk. Hulkling is arguably among the strongest members of The Young Avengers.

At this point, it’s no secret that the MCU is moving towards a Young Avengers project, with the introduction of many Young Avengers members, such as Eli Bradley (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier), Kid Loki (Loki), Kate Bishop (Hawkeye) and America Chavez (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).

These heroes will likely join forces with Billy and Tommy Maximoff, A.K.A. Wiccan and Speed, who were first introduced in WandaVision. I’m willing to bet that by the time a Young Avengers project is in the works, we will have teenage versions of Wiccan and Speed, which brings me to my next point.

In the comics, one of the most well known relationships is between the characters Wiccan and Hulkling, being arguably the most famous LGBTQ+ relationship in Marvel’s canon. Now that Wiccan has been introduced in the MCU, it’s only a matter of time until Hulkling is, and there’s several different projects we could see him appear in.

Where Might We See Hulkling Debut?

We can see Hulkling appearing in a variety of different projects. He could appear in the She-Hulk series. Maybe the reason Hulkling chooses a form like the Hulk is due to spending some time with actual Hulks, such as Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters. It’d be a slightly odd series to introduce him in, but he does have ties to the Hulk family.

Some more realistic options would be either Secret Invasion or The Marvels, as these projects will likely tie more directly into the mythos of Hulkling. Theodore, being a Kree and Skrull hybrid, is probably torn in the heated war between the Kree and the Skrulls. Currently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both of these groups seem to be active threats to Earth. Our guess is we might see him team up with Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau during the events of either Secret Invasion or The Marvels.

In The Marvels, we are set to see Ms. Marvel appear off the tail of her Disney+ series, so perhaps she will meet Hulkling there, and later introduce him to what could be the start of the Young Avengers.

There’s a lot of other ways that Hulkling could be introduced, but these three projects we believe are the most likely. Do you think that the arrival of Hulkling in the MCU is imminent?
