As has been made clear in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Young Avengers are coming. In the comics, The Young Avengers are a team of teenage superheroes, many of which are legacies of The Avengers. The line-up has changed a fair amount over the years, so now we’re going to determine who could join this team in the MCU!
***Spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness***
Who Will Be The MCU’s Young Avengers?
Wiccan & Speed
The first characters we’ll discuss are none other than Billy and Tommy Maximoff, A.K.A. Wiccan and Speed. While many expected Wiccan and Speed to return after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, following their erasure in WandaVision, the two of them still currently do not exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After The Scarlet Witch’s sacrifice in the film’s finale, chances are we might not see these exact versions of the characters again. What we did learn is that throughout the multiverse, Billy and Tommy do in fact exist. We could see versions of these characters from an alternate reality join this roster of Young Avengers. They could even be from Earth-838!
America Chavez

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we were introduced to America Chavez, A.K.A. Miss America! This character has the ability to open portals through dimensions as well as being a skilled fighter. At the end of the film, Chavez began her training at Kamar Taj to strengthen her control over her powers in hopes of one day being reunited with her mothers. Miss America’s experience with traversing the multiverse and escaping the wrath of The Scarlet Witch could be a tease that she might be the one responsible for bringing versions of Billy and Tommy Maximoff to the core Marvel Cinematic Universe, otherwise known as The Sacred Timeline.
Patriot

Next up is Eli Bradley, A.K.A. Patriot. Introduced in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Bradley is sure to eventually take on the mantle of Patriot. With his grandfather’s history as Captain America, he could follow in his footsteps, and might have even inherited his enhanced abilities. We were surprised when he didn’t don a shield in the series, but we could see him take on the mantle during the events of Captain America 4!
Kid Loki

As we saw during the events of Loki, a variant of the character called Kid Loki debuted. This character only recently escaped captivity in The Void, and could soon make his way to The Sacred Timeline. From there, he could team up with Young Avengers members to enact revenge on his former captor, Kang The Conqueror.
Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop recently made her MCU debut during the events of Hawkeye! This version of the character already is very skilled at archery, and shares the mantle of Hawkeye with Clint Barton. Her character is rumored to appear in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania alongside another Young Avenger.
Cassie Lang
Cassie Lang, A.K.A. Stinger or Stature is the daughter of Scott Lang in the comics. The version of her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has recently aged up significantly after the five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame. In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, the teenage version of Cassie Lang will be played by Kathryn Newton and is set to finally become a hero like her father.
Ms. Marvel

While not a member of The Young Avengers in the comics, I can see Marvel Studios adding Kamala Khan, A.K.A. Ms. Marvel to the team! Ms. Marvel, set to debut in her titular Disney+ series, would be a great candidate for this team, being both a legacy and a young hero. The timing of this release alongside other Young Avengers debuts seems just a little too coincidental.
Ironheart

A similar argument can be made for Riri Williams, A.K.A. Ironheart. As a young hero set to debut in the near future during the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever before her titular Disney+ series, chances are Ironheart will make the cut for this team. Normally, she and Ms. Marvel are members of the other young hero team, Champions. While The Young Avengers and Champions are two separate teams of young heroes in the comics, the cinematic version of these teams may be combined into one.
Young Avengers Assemble
While other Young Avengers characters like Iron Lad and Hulkling could be on the way, these are currently The Young Avengers members that are a part of the MCU, and could easily form a team of their own. Now the question remains, what assembles The Young Avengers?

Chances are, many of these Young Avengers will already know each other before a potential assembly begins. Wiccan and Speed are now likely familiar with Miss America, while Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang will also probably be allies. Almost all of these characters, aside from Patriot, Ms. Marvel, and Ironheart, have either already appeared in a multiverse-related story or will soon. Wiccan, Speed and Miss America in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Cassie Lang, Kate Bishop, and maybe even Kid Loki could appear in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. There is one Young Avengers villain who is heavily linked to the multiverse, and that’s none other than Kang The Conqueror.

Kang, being teed up as an overarching villain throughout the MCU, could be facing a team of Young Avengers soon. Kang is confirmed to be a villain in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and will likely play a role in Season 2 of Loki. The young heroes in these projects could witness the brutality of Kang, and maybe after their mentors fall in the battle against him, The Young Avengers rise.
Those are our thoughts on what the future Young Avengers team could look like, and why they’re assembled! What do you think of this roster? Are there other members of The Young Avengers you’d like to see join? Let us know in the comments and on our Twitter!
