4. Peacemaker
The Suicide Squad and James Gunn fans are especially hyped for DC Fandome with the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Peacemaker series already promised during the virtual convention. There has been a lot of exciting news about the series with Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland reprising their roles from The Suicide Squad as John Economos and Emily Harcourt respectively. Danielle Brooks will be playing Leota Adebayo, a newcomer who forms an unexpected bond with Peacemaker despite their political differences. Chukwudi Iwuji is playing Clemson Murn, a mercenary hired by Amanda Waller to run the team. And Freddie Stroma is taking on the role of DC comics character Vigilante.
Peacemaker will be set after the events of The Suicide Squad, with the post credit scene setting up the series while also exploring the character’s origins likely through his father, Auggie Smith who will be played by Robert Patrick. Judomaster will also be making his live action debut played by Nhut Le. Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max in January, but not much is known about the actual plot of the series.

Hopefully the teaser trailer that drops during DC Fandome will reveal some story details about the series. We at The Illuminerdi are hoping to find out who Peacemaker will be after as he and his team try to save the world. James Gunn has also teased another character from The Suicide Squad will be making an appearance so a tease of who this mysterious cameo will be would also be an exciting piece of news to learn at DC Fandome.
3. The Flash
Fans have been eagerly awaiting The Flash for years and the hype only grew after DC Fandome 2020 where exciting concept art, including the Flash’s new suit, was teased. The Flash is expected to blow open the DC multiverse in a way fans have been hoping to see for years. With Sasha Calle playing Supergirl, Ben Affleck reprising his role as Batman along with Michael Keaton returning to play Batman, The Flash is sure to be a wild ride.

With The Flash having recently wrapped filming we are hoping for some footage to tease the highly anticipated film during DC Fandome. Specifically, both Sasha Calle and Michael Keaton suited up as Supergirl and Batman respectively. Although it would definitely be a treat to see both Affleck and Keaton in their respective Bat-suits during DC Fandome.
2. Black Adam And Shazam! Fury Of The Gods
Both Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods have wrapped filming. Black Adam will not only star Dwayne Johnson finally playing his favorite anti-hero, but it will also feature an impressive cast as the JSA. Noah Centineo is Adam Smasher, Quintessa Swindell is Cyclone, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Pierce Brosnan is playing Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi is playing Adrianna Tomaz, Shahi told The Hollywood Reporter that he character is a “freedom fighter that’s leading this big resistance against an evil malicious group called intergang.” Black Adam is expected to explore the origins of the titular anti-hero.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will once again feature Billy Batson as the titular superhero Shazam along with the family he built in the first film. Although Mister Mind was teased in the post-credit scene of Shazam it is unclear if the villainous worm will return for the sequel. We at The Illuminerdi revealed character details about three adversaries referred to only as the “Sisters.” The casting of Helen Mirren as Hespera, who was specifically mentioned in what we learned, Lucy Liu as Kalypso, and Rachel Zegler, who is a perfect fit for the third sister, Shazam! Fury of The Gods has quite the line up for the villainous trio.
We at The Illuminerdi are hoping for some footage teasing the costumes for the characters in both Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods during DC Fandome. For Black Adam we want to see Johnson suited up as Black Adam as well as the JSA in full, suited up, form. And while the new suits for the Shazam Fam have already been revealed, we’d love to see them in action especially facing off against the three sisters in their costumes.
We would also love some sort of DC Fandome promotional video featuring both Zachary Levi and Dwayne Johnson in costume, possibly squaring off to hype up fans for both movies, not to mention we are hoping for some sort of cameo from Johnson possibly in a post credit scene of the upcoming Shazam sequel.
1. The Batman
Fans are beyond excited about Matt Reeves’ The Batman with a new trailer promised during DC Fandome 2021. DC Fandome 2020 debuted the first trailer for The Batman, which was an impressive feat with only about 25% of The Batman having been filmed at that time. The Batman will take a look at Batman during his second year as the Dark Knight along with a number of his infamous rogues, before they’re in their prime, specifically Catwoman, Penguin, and a terrifying Riddler.

Fans of the World’s Greatest Detective are especially excited that it looks like The Batman will be a gritty noir detective take on Gotham’s Caped Crusader with many fans believing the film will pull inspiration from the comic book series The Long Halloween. We at The Illuminerdi cannot wait for the new trailer to drop during DC Fandome and are definitely hoping for some new footage featuring the villains. We’d love to see Catwoman in full cat burglar action and the killer Riddler in his full terrifying suit.
With so many DC films and series coming in the next couple years it seems like the second DC Fandome is going to be even better than the first. DC Fandome will be streaming on Saturday October 16, 2021 starting at 10am PT. Peacemaker is set to debut on HBO Max January 2022. The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters March 4, 2022. Black Adam is set to hit theaters July 29, 2022. The Flash is set to hit theaters November 4, 2022. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to hit theaters June 2, 2023.
