In this episode of We’re Always Watching Kevin Fenix, one of our editors, Caitlin Tyrrell, one of our journalists and features manager, and Josh Goldman, head of Post Production discuss the new Pixar movie Lightyear. This is the movie that Andy saw and fell in love with in the Toy Story universe. The movie follows Buzz as he attempts to save his crew after they have been marooned on an alien planet. Buzz must face countless struggles including an army of robots led by the mysterious Zurg.
In the newest episode of We’re Always Watching Kevin, Josh, and Caitlin talk about how Lightyear fits into the Toy Story universe and why they think it is ridiculous people in the Toy Story fandom are freaking out. They also discuss the nostalgic sci-fi feel, how it captures the Pixar magic, and where it fits in their own Pixar ranking. Josh, Kevin, and Caitlin also talk about the insanity of the time travel, Buzz’s journey as he tries to fix his mistake, and what else they want to see from Lightyear explored. Caitlin also talks about the importance of LGBTQ representation in a Disney Pixar movie.
