What a day for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Rumors have been circling for weeks as to what news would arrive to the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom at the 2020 Disney Investor Day meeting, and it didn’t disappoint for one second. The studio is currently working to bring Phase 4 of the MCU to life starting with WandaVision in January, but that wasn’t even close to the only thing discussed through Marvel’s time in the spotlight.
Kevin Feige hosted this virtual segment, and along with confirming more exciting information for projects already announced, he absolutely blew the fandom’s collective mind with news by the minute.
Marvel Studios’ Reveals at Disney Investor Day Meeting
Without further ado, here is everything confirmed for the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the Disney Investor’s Meeting:
WandaVision Official Trailer #2
The second trailer for WandaVision was released ahead of its debut on Disney+ on January 15. The full trailer featuring Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany and more can be seen below:
Elizabeth Olsen was also confirmed to be currently shooting for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, for which Kevin Feige officially announced that Xochitl Gomez will be playing America Chavez. Rachel McAdams was also confirmed to return as Christine Palmer from the first movie, and Sam Raimi was officially confirmed to be directing the sequel on Disney Investor Day.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier First Look Trailer
Disney Investor Day also marked the debut trailer for Disney+’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will officially begin streaming on March 19, 2021. The exclusive trailer can be seen below:
Loki Official Trailer
Disney+’s Loki also came out in full force with a first trailer of its own, showcasing the God of Mischief’s travels through the galaxy alongside Owen Wilson’s Time Variance Authority official and more. The series will pick up directly after the events of Avengers: Endgame, and it will debut on Disney+ in May 2021.

What If…? First Look Trailer
What If…? became the fourth Disney+ show to reveal a full trailer, opening up and entirely new world of alternate possibilities in the MCU’s first ever animated show. It includes Peggy Carter becoming Captain Britain, T’Challa becoming Star-Lord and more.Â

Ms. Marvel Sizzle Reel Trailer
Kevin Feige confirmed that Iman Vellani will be taking on the role of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel, and that the series will arrive on Disney+ in late 2021, earlier than originally anticipated. Marvel also released a sizzle reel of interviews and bits of footage from the show on Disney Investor Day, which can be seen here:
Vellani was also confirmed to be returning to the MCU in Captain Marvel 2, which will officially be directed by Nia DaCosta. Brie Larson will reprise the title hero alongside Vellani, and the movie will also feature Teyonah Parris making her second appearance as the adult Monica Rambeau after her debut in WandaVision next month.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Cast Confirmed
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings confirmed numerous cast members including Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan on Disney Investor Day. Undisclosed roles were also announced for Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chang. The movie is confirmed to premiere on July 9, 2021.
Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, and Tim Roth Confirmed For She-Hulk
Tatiana Maslany was officially confirmed to play Jennifer Walters in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, directed by Kat Coiro and Any Valia. The show will also bring back Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/The Abomination.
Moon Knight
Mohammed Diab is confirmed to direct the Moon Knight series on Disney+, although there was no mention of Oscar Isaac taking on the title role on Disney Investor Day.
Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn To Headline in Secret Invasion
At the Disney Investor Day presentation Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel is developing a Secret Invasion series to premiere on Disney+. This show will star Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos.
Ironheart
Marvel is now in the process of developing an Ironheart series, which will star Dominique Thorne as the young genius Riri Williams creating a brand new version of the Iron Man armor.
Armor Wars
Don Cheadle will star in his own new Disney+ series entitled Armor Wars, in which James Rhodes takes on the War Machine mantle again in a new set of tech-based challenges.
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
Before taking on Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, which will come in 2023, director James Gunn will direct the very unique Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special for premiere on Disney+. This will bring the team together for some holdiay-inspired shenanigans and will come to Disney+ during the 2022 holiday season.
I Am Groot
Baby Groot will make a glorious return to the MCU during Disney Investor Day in the Disney+ animated series, I Am Groot, alongside several new and unusual characters from comics and movie lore.
Christian Bale Confirmed as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder
Christian Bale was confirmed to play the villain in 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder, and he will officially take on the role of Gorr the God Butcher.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
The Ant-Man threequel will officially go under the title Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The movie has also cast Katheryn Newton as Cassie Lang and officially confirmed the casting of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.
Black Panther 2
Kevin Feige confirmed that the role of T’Challa will not be recast for 2022’s Black Panther 2, and the movie will focus on paying tribute to his legacy as the Wakandan King.
Fantastic Four
In the final announcement of the night, Marvel Studios officially confirmed plans for a Fantastic Four movie in the MCU and debuted the first logo. Kevin Feige also confirmed that Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts will be directing this new film.
Marvel Fans are in absolute heaven right now with so much new Disney Investor Day information to digest. There were announcements for six new MCU projects and breaking news coming from over a dozen more, and Marvel Studios looks to be set to regain a stranglehold on the world of pop culture for a long time to come.
